Your August 2019 XTON Access Manager Newsletter!

Things are heating up at Xton this summer as our development team continues to add a number of new features to XTAM privileged access management software. Over the last 30 days we have added the option to import data from KeePass; record HTTP(s) traffic; support for task execution of large-volumes of records; and made XTAM more mobile friendly. See all the recent highlights below.

XTAM has added the option to import data from KeePass Password Safe providing a quick and easy way for companies using a password manager to transition to an enterprise class vault and access solution by reusing its existing investment into password management. With XTAM’s native import function from a KeePass Password Safe v2 exported database, companies can preserve group hierarchy and smart detecting of entry types. While KeePass Password Safe is popular free client-side password management tool, it does not scale well for the multi-user and corporate use. Xton Access Manager is a web-based vault solution that allows companies to securely share accounts and passwords among multiple users using centrally managed cloud or on-premises hosting.

XTAM introduces the option to record HTTP(s) traffic originated from client browsers to WEB Portal through the system’s HTTP proxy server. Traffic recording is saved in the portable HAR format that can be viewed by third party online or offline viewers. The recordings include transferred data and protocol details such as headers, cookies, URLs as well as timing information. Recordings are enabled for the sessions with the standard permissions Connect and Always Record.

To better support task executions that span hundreds or thousands of records, XTAM has added a new Periodic in Range policy event that allows IT administrators to schedule jobs at random days within a given interval. This option allows a more efficient distribution of a large volume of scheduled jobs over long intervals to reduce the load on the network and servers. For example, periodic password reset job for several thousands of network computers could be scheduled over a three-month period with the password reset interval falling into a range from one to three months.

  • Open session toolbar using a “left to right” swipe gesture
