Your February 2021 XTON Access Manager Newsletter!

We have made several enhancements to the XTAM product. This includes:

  • Dynamic Permission Support for Workflow Approvers
  • Active Directory Self-Password Reset
  • PostgreSQL and MS SQL

Check out our latest blog on No One Should Know a Password for a Shared Account.

Details on all the XTAM updates are below.

Workflow Approvers are now afforded greater permissions to monitor and manage active sessions that they have approved. A user who approved a session can now review, join or terminate the requester’s session from their My Workflows page. Dual Control or Peer Review requirements are still enforced, but this allows for a larger use case around shift-based supervisors who need more insight into sessions that they have approved.

A new Delegated Approval workflow template has been introduced that combines automatic approval with the benefits of interactive approvers. With the Delegated Approval template, XTAM will automatically approve all requests, however a list of Approvers are attached to the template. These approvers cannot Approve or Reject the incoming requests, but they receive the benefits of approvers which will allow them to review, join or terminate these approved sessions.

For XTAM deployments that are securely integrated with Active Directory, AD users can now reset their own password from within the XTAM portal. AD Users can simply navigate to their profile in XTAM (Management > My Profile) and use the password reset option. XTAM respects all current Active Directory password policies so the user will still need to ensure that they are generating a new password that meets or exceeds those defined in the domain (length, complexity, age, etc.).

PostgreSQL and MS SQL database accounts can be supported for both Check Status and Password Reset tasks. Let XTAM manage your database credentials to ensure they remain in control of their owners and force strong and automatic password rotation policies when applicable.
