Details on all the XTAM updates are below.

Xton The Transparent Perimeter deployment option provides access to closed isolated networks behind firewalls based on a reverse tunnel architecture. The option improves security of the isolated network under management by allowing external parties to access assets inside the network with no requirements to open ports in the network firewall, useful to provide low traffic connectivity to networks with high security requirements or to quickly investigate test scenarios. This deployment supports current XTAM protocols including RDP, SSH, HTTPS, Telnet, VNC and RemoteApps, both web based and native client established sessions.
Learn More
XTAM introduced a new Dashboard screen for System Administrators and Auditors that allows them to quickly evaluate how users are working with the software and how the system maintains privileged credentials in the network. The Dashboard features several visual representations of aggregated key metrics about assets, sessions, jobs and user activity and displays weekly aggregated statistics by day of the week.

PostgreSQL Account Management
Easily manage your PostgreSQL accounts with XTAM’s new PostgreSQL record type. This new record type comes preconfigured with the necessary fields to store your connection string, user account and password. It includes a default Check Status task to ensure your credentials are valid and a Password Reset task to provide an easy means to automatically and safely rotate your database password.
Reporting Enhancements
This month we added several more enhancements to the XTAM reports including additional context about the user generating a report (user and time); an option to define a custom report title prefix to replace the default XTAM Report; and an option to export reports to a password encrypted zip file.
XTAM Documentation and Help Website
This month we released a new XTAM documentation website that makes it easier for customers to search product documentation and find best practice guides and weekly release information. The new site is designed to help users manage and grow their XTAM implementation by leveraging new features and functionality.
Additional XTAM Extensions and Enhancements
Over the past 30 days we have made a number of additional enhancements to XTAM. These include:

  • For Linux installation you can now save your installation parameters directly to a file rather than appearing on the screen;
  • Added support for SSH Hosts that use a Dynamic Port for connection; and
  • Improved the SU password injection logic to support hosts that respond slower than expected./li>

What is Just-in-time Privileged Access?
Gartner recommends that companies think beyond basic PAM functionally – vaults and session management – and implement just-in-time (JIT) privileged access. In a recent blog, Xton breaks down what JIT privileged access is and how companies can begin adding JIT access to their security strategies. Read Article
